No. 2 Colt the Jaguars must silence in Week 6: Yannick Ngakoue, DE

Sophomore Kwity Paye is currently leading the Colts in sacks with three but he might not play Sunday after suffering an ankle injury against the Broncos. While his potential absence would hurt Indy, they have enough talent up front to lessen the impact. Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner has been his usual dominant self while defensive end Yannick Ngakoue has progressively grown comfortable in the Colts’ defensive scheme.

Ngakoue has started all five games this season and his 2.5 sacks are the second most in Indianapolis. The run has never been his strength but he’s an effective pass rusher the Jaguars’ offensive line must account for him if they want to keep Trevor Lawrence’s jersey clean.

No. 1 Colt the Jaguars must silence in Week 6: Alec Pierce

Michael Pittman Jr. is the Colts’ No. 1 receiver but Alec Pierce is slowly gaining steam. The former Cincinnati Bearcat had a head-scratching drop in the opener but he’s since caught every pass Matt Ryan has thrown his way.

Pierce missed Week 2 with a concussion but has put up solid numbers over the last three weeks. In the last two games alone, he’s hauled in 12 receptions for 161 yards. He has yet to reach the end zone but it might be a matter of time before he does.

The Jaguars can’t devote too much attention to stopping Pittman. Otherwise, they run the risk of leaving Pierce open. The Colts have had a hard time scoring points in 2022 and Jacksonville must keep it that way in Week 6.
