2. The Jaguars will trade one of their many wide receivers

The Jaguars enter training camp with a well-rounded wide receiver corps. Besides signing Christian Kirk and Zay Jones, they brought back Laquon Treadwell on a one-year deal. Marvin Jones Jr. should still have a big role in spite of the offseason additions while Laviska Shenault Jr. should have no trouble bouncing back after having a down year in 2021.

Moreover, Jacksonville inked Kevin Austin Jr. as an undrafted free agent and John Shipley of Jaguar Report thinks that Tim Jones, Marvin Hall, and Jeff Cotton Jr. all could make a legitimate push to earn a roster spot. Last but not least, return specialist Jamal Agnew should be fully healthy after suffering a hip injury last season and he will once again get a few snaps on offense. The Jags must feel great about their depth at wide receiver but they might also consider trading one of them if the right offer pops up.

After all, the Jaguars placed Shenault in the trading block earlier this year and they may have ultimately decided to keep him because they didn’t get an offer to their liking. But if someone comes calling again, the organization might feel inclined to either move Viska or any of their other wideouts.

Teams in search of a No. 2 wideout might be willing to part ways with a third-round selection for Marvin Jones Jr. Clubs could also see Shenault as a reclamation project and if they’re looking for depth, Laquon Treadwell could then be of their interest.

The Jags are better off keeping all the receivers they have on their roster but they can afford to part ways with one of them if the right situation arises.
