No. 2 Jaguars player who must shine in training camp: Walker Little, OT

The Jaguars’ 2021 draft class could turn out to be pretty darn good. Trevor Lawrence is the crown jewel but he isn’t the only player that could become a franchise cornerstone. Both running back Travis Etienne and cornerback Tyson Campbell are set to have big roles in 2022. Moreover, Walker Little will have a chance to earn a starting job in training camp.

One important difference is that Etienne and Campbell are expected to start in Week 1 while Little will have to compete with Jawaan Taylor for the right tackle job. This could end up being the biggest battle in Jaguars training camp and one in which the slightest mistake could be the difference between starting on Game Day and watching from the sidelines.

Taylor will probably have the early edge since he’s the incumbent and has experience playing the position while Little will be switching sides. Having said that, there’s a realistic chance the former Stanford Cardinal will seize the starting job in training camp.

Little made three starts last season and although he allowed two sacks in the first one, he gave up a measly one total pressure in the next two. Moreover, he was one of the most dominant offensive tackles in college before he tore his ACL in 2019.

The Texas native has been injury free since then and has probably spent the offseason getting ready to play right tackle. If he wants to beat Taylor, he must start training camp with a bang.
