AFC South wide receiver power ranking: Indianapolis Colts

46. . . . Indianapolis Colts. 3. team

The two biggest moves the Indianapolis Colts made this offseason were dumping Carson Wentz and trading for Matt Ryan. The latter immediately makes them the team to beat in the division even if he’s no longer in his prime.

If the Colts can squeeze two or three good years out of Ryan, the trade will have been a success. Having said that, Indy must focus on the 2022 season and beating the Jags at TIAA Bank Field, a feat they haven’t achieved since 2014. So what kind of arsenal will Ryan have at his disposal this upcoming season?

Michael Pittman Jr. is Indianapolis’ No. 1 receiver. The former USC Trojan is coming off the first 1,000-yard season of his career but still has room for improvement and needs to have an even better year in 2022.

Parris Campbell, a second-round pick in the 2019 draft, was expected to be the No. 2 option in the passing game but he’s dealt with a myriad of injuries throughout his NFL career and hasn’t really had the opportunity to show what he can do. It will be interesting to see if he can stay healthy in what seems to be a make-or-break season.

Last but not least is Alec Pierce, the rookie out of Cincinnati. If he can quickly get acclimated to the NFL, the Colts might not have to wait on Campbell. There isn’t much depth behind them three though, and if one of them has to miss time in 2022, Indy’s passing game might be in trouble.
