No. 3 Jaguars player who can’t regress in 2022 – Cam Robinson, LT.

Left tackle Cam Robinson was one of the biggest offseason winners. Right before free agency, the Jaguars applied the franchise tag on him for the second year in a row, ensuring that he would remain in Jacksonville for at least one more season.

Had Robinson played the 2021 season under the tag, he would have earned a guaranteed $16.7 million. However, he signed a three-year deal worth $54 million not long after. Without having to worry about his contract until 2025, he can fully focus on being the best player he can be.

A second-round pick in 2017, Robinson made 15 starts as a rookie but was limited to only two the following year after suffering a torn ACL. The former Alabama standout returned to the starting lineup in 2019 and has only missed five games since then. Last year, Robinson gave up 31 total pressures and only one sack. Moreover, he posted a Pro Football Focus pass-blocking grade of 76.8, a career-high. If he can keep performing at that level in 2022, Trevor Lawrence won’t have to worry about his blindside.

On the other hand, 2021 marked the first and only time in Robinson’s career that he didn’t give up 40 total pressures or more in a season when he started at least 14 games. The Jaguars can’t afford their left tackle to take a step back if they want Lawrence to have optimal protection this upcoming season.
