Jaguars No. 3 fantasy option in 2022 – Trevor Lawrence, QB.
Trevor Lawrence’s rookie season in 2021 was far from ideal but the quarterback still managed to flash his potential with a handful of incredible throws appearing in just about every game. Lawrence ended the year throwing for 3,641 yards, 12 touchdowns, 17 interceptions and a 59.6 completion percentage.
While the numbers left much to be desired, the young signal caller demonstrated leadership, maturity, and a highly competitive attitude throughout a year filled with adversity. There were also several examples of Lawrence showing off his arm talent and why he was such a highly regarded prospect coming out of college.
Despite the Urban Meyer debacle, Lawrence’s outlook in this league looks bright as he appears to have a better cast of playmakers around him and a much more competent head coach with a track record of winning and quarterback development.
DJ Chark’s injury took away Lawrence’s top option last year elevating Marvin Jones to the top spot. While he played well, there was not a whole lot of production after him. The Jaguars signed Christian Kirk, Zay Jones, and Evan Engram during free agency. Travis Etienne and Dan Arnold also return from injury this year, giving Lawrence and improved cast of playmakers to work with in his sophomore season.
The expectations are high for the second-year quarterback, and it appears that the team around him and the coaching staff are significantly improved from his rookie campaign. Lawrence looks primed to have a breakout season in the 2022 season.
