No. 1 free agent the Jaguars can sign post-draft: Julio Jones, WR.

Jacksonville’s most glaring need on offense following the 2022 NFL Draft is wide receiver. Not having a bonafide receiver has plagued the Jaguars ever since they lost Allen Robinson to the Chicago Bears in free agency in 2018.

The Jaguars’ wide receiver room is full of potential number twos or threes but none seem to have true No. 1 potential. The closest to possibly developing into a true top wideout is recently-signed former Arizona Cardinal Christian Kirk. He’s still very young and may become a top option later in his career, but most see him as a secondary target, especially given that he was never been able to truly separate himself in Arizona.

Arguably the best available receiver still available, Julio Jones would provide a much-needed veteran presence in the locker room. He only managed to haul in 31 catches for 434 yards with one touchdown reception last season in Tennessee, but the Titans deploy a run-first offense with running back Derrick Henry leading the way.

Jones may be seeking a one-year, prove-it deal in order to cash in next offseason and he could do just that by presumably playing for a Jaguars team coached by Doug Pederson and his pass-heavy scheme. Jones could very well be a short-term answer to the Jaguars’ most pressing offensive concern. Other free-agent wide receivers the Jaguars could target include Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry.
