2. Jaguars who should join the broadcasting boot – Shaquill Griffin, CB.

The Jaguars have had to endure plenty of losing over the last ten years but you could make the case that the 2021 season was arguably the worst in franchise history. Sure, they had a worse record in 2012 (2-14) and won the same number of games in 2016 (3-13) but neither campaign came close to the dysfunction they faced under Urban Meyer.

As owner Shad Khan recently noted, he didn’t move on from Meyer because of his overall record but because he couldn’t trust him. And he was right, Meyer always pointed fingers and never held himself to the standards he set, often lying and looking for a scapegoat. Rookie Travis Etienne jokingly said that he was glad he missed the season while Trevor Lawrence told the media that short of getting hurt, his rookie campaign couldn’t have been worse.

However, cornerback Shaquill Griffin wasn’t fazed and in spite of the toxicity and all the losing, he often talked to the media after games and wasn’t afraid to represent the Jags, even if they were coming off a poor performance. He didn’t try to embellish the situation and always tried to be objective, discussing the areas in which the defense needed to improve while highlighting the positives (if there were any).

Griffin has the mental fortitude to withstand all kinds of challenges and that makes him a prime candidate to share his candid takes on the game of football.
