No. 3 landing spot for former Jaguars LB Myles Jack – Seahawks.

Here’s another team that is wrapping up an era, and coincidentally released a linebacker. Just a few days ago, the Seattle Seahawks moved on from Bobby Wagner the heart and soul and the last vestige of the Legion of Boom defense that roamed in the NFL in the 2010s. Then again, comparing the Jags to the Hawks may not be fair since the latter club was a perennial playoff contender, won a Super Bowl, and was a bad throw away from winning a second one while the Jags haven’t been very good in some time.

A second-round pick by the Seahawks in the 2012 draft, Wagner has racked up eight Pro Bowl selections, six All-Pro designations, and made the Hall of Fame’s 2010s team. On the other hand, the veteran linebacker hasn’t had the impact he had early in his career, so releasing him wasn’t a tough decision when you take into account that Seattle freed up $16 million in cap space.

Nevertheless, those will be some tough shoes to fill but although Myles Jack hasn’t played at such a high level throughout his career, he could do a good job. Seattle could be in the midst of a rebuild after trading Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos and it’s uncertain what kind of direction the team will take in the upcoming years but Jack could become a key cog in the early stages of the transition.
