No. 3 player the Jaguars can trade for in 2022 – James Bradberry, CB.

There have been talks about the New York Giants possibly shopping running back Saquon Barkley this offseason but moving on from him doesn’t make much sense. After all, the G-Men might get a late-round pick at most for him and if he can stay healthy and be the playmaker he was back in 2018, when he totaled 2,2028 yards from scrimmage on his way to winning the Offensive Rookie Year Award.

On the other hand, the Giants may take calls about cornerback James Bradberry, who could net them a third-round selection, according to Dan Duggan of The Athletic. New York is currently in the red and trading Bradberry would free up $12.14 million in cap space with a dead cap hit of $9.7 million.

A second-round pick by the Carolina Panthers in 2019, Bradberry signed a three-year deal to join the Giants in 2020. The 2020 Pro Bowl selection has appeared in 32 games with 31 starts over the last two seasons and has logged two forced fumbles, 35 passes defensed, and seven interceptions.

Cornerback isn’t currently a pressing need for the Jaguars but Bradberry would round out a group that includes Shaquill Griffin and Tyson Campbell. The downside of trading for Bradberry is that Jacksonville might not be inclined to give him a long-term deal right off the bat and could end up becoming a one-year rental.
