No. 3 Jaguars player who needs to develop in 2022 – Walker Little, OT.

Offensive tackle Walker Little was a need for the Jaguars last offseason but taking Walker Little with the 45th overall pick seemed like a reach. After all, the former Stanford Cardinal hadn’t played a football game since he tore his ACL against Northwestern in 2019.

The fact that Little hardly played early in the 2021 campaign didn’t help ease doubts about his readiness to play in the NFL or lack thereof. But in the end, he showed that all he needed was a shot to show what he could do on the field, which he got when Cam Robinson landed on the COVID-19/Reserve list and missed the last two games of the campaign.

Little made the most of his chance and allowed just ONE total pressure (no sacks) in 115 pass-blocking snaps in those two games. He previously started in Week 9 when Robinson got hurt at the last minute but you could make the case that he was caught off guard and didn’t have enough time to prepare but once he did, he stood out.

As of this writing, it’s uncertain if Robinson will return to Jacksonville or whether the Jaguars will select Alabama offensive tackle Evan Neal with the first overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Little could stay at left tackle or move to the right side but regardless of where he lines up, he will have a chance to build off his promising rookie campaign and show he can be a mainstay of the offensive line for years to come.
