No. 5 thing Jaguars must accomplish – Get Trevor Lawrence weapons.

By now, you have probably hard this one a thousand times but that doesn’t make it any less true. The Jaguars must build around Trevor Lawrence this offseason and they need to surround him with the best possible surrounding cast if they want him to become the franchise quarterback they expected when they used the top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Revamping the offensive line as previously stated is paramount to the Jaguars’ offensive success in 2022 but they also need to bolster their wide receiver corps. DJ Chark should be the team’s brass priority but if they can’t or aren’t interested in bringing him back, they can pursue Mike Williams or Allen Robinson in free agency. Another option is to use their second-round pick — the 33rd overall — or one of their two third-rounders.

The front office could also re-sign Laquon Treadwell, who became Lawrence’s favorite target down the stretch. Also, the Jaguars’ coaching staff need to help Laviska Shenault get back on track after having a somewhat disappointing 2021 campaign. Viska, like most of his teammates, was surely affected by Urban Meyer’s toxic culture, so it will be up to Doug Pederson to restore (or create?) order in Jacksonville.

Trevor Lawrence didn’t get much help in his rookie campaign while Pederson could help him fulfill his potential, there’s only so much coaching can do. That’s why the Jags must get him as many weapons as possible this offseason.
