No. 3 Jacksonville Jaguars player who could be traded – Jawaan Taylor

Even though their offensive line wasn’t a strength last season, the Jacksonville Jaguars decided to bring back all their starters. This wasn’t a bad move in retrospect. After all, they needed to build some consistency up front and give rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence optimal protection. The team’s brass applied the franchise tag on left tackle Cam Robinson, with the expectation that he and right tackle Jawaan Taylor would secure the edges.

While Robinson has fared well at left tackle, Jawaan Taylor hasn’t done much to show he’s the long-term answer on the right side. The 2019 second-round pick has all the physical tools to turn into an upper-tier offensive player but is on pace to register a career-high in penalties and struggles in run blocking.

The Jaguars could wait for Taylor for one more season but they also need to assess all their options. Maybe a switch to offensive guard could benefit him but trading him should also be a realistic possibility. The former Florida Gator will be on the last year of his rookie contract in 2022 and the Jags could send him to a team that is willing to work with him and untap his potential.

Also, Taylor could also use a change of scenery. Maybe things haven’t worked out in Jacksonville and could thrive somewhere else. The truth is that he hasn’t lived up to expectations and the offensive line needs a boost at right tackle.
