8-3. . Tennessee Titans. 1. team. 35.

The Titans still hold the top spot in the AFC South in spite of their loss.

Good teams overcome mistakes but it’s difficult to win when you turn the ball over five times in a game. Just ask the Titans, that got crushed by a Texans win that hadn’t won a game since the season opener.

In Tennesse’s defense, they have deal with a lot this season. They lost the heart and soul of their offense, running back Derrick Henry, for the season, and they have had to play a record 82 players this season due to injuries. You could argue that injuries are an inherited part of the game and teams must be ready for them but nothing can prepare you to have so many losses in just one year.

After all, Henry isn’t the only key player they’ve been without, and the absence of Julio Jones and A.J. Brown have also severly hurt the offense. The defense hasn’t fared much better with linebacker Bud Dupree and cornerback Caleb Farley landing on the Injured Reserve list.

Either way, the Titans are still at the top of the AFC South with an 8-3 overall record. They could win just three of their next seven games and still have a legitimate chance to qualify for the postseason. They may not make a deep playoff run but the Jaguars and the Texans wouldn’t mind trading places with them.

Tennessee will next face the New England Patriots and then enjoy their BYE. The Pats are low-key riding a five-game winning streak and could present a tough challenge for Tennesse.
