10. . 2-8. . Houston Texans. 3. team

The Texans took over the Jaguars’ previous spot in the AFC South.

Every dog has its day and the Houston Texans proved that any NFL team can win on any given Sunday, beating the Tennessee Titans in Week 11. While this matchup looked lopsided on paper, the Texans held no punches and proved they aren’t willing to throw in the towel just yet.

You could argue this was an outlier, as the Titans turned the ball over five times. Nevertheless, Houston took advantage of every single one of them and scored 22 points even though quarterback Tyrod Taylor completed just 14 of 24 passes for 107 yards. On the other hand, he had 28 of his teams’ 83 yards and his two rushing touchdowns turned out to be the difference.

Now, the Texans are still a bad team and it’s unrealistic to expect opposing teams to commit five turnovers in a game every week. However, a win is a win and they are surely thrilled they put an end to an eight-game losing streak. Coincidentally, the last team they beat before Week 11 was the Jaguars, who have since then won two games.

At this point, it wouldn’t be shocking to see either Houston or the Jags finish last in the AFC South. For the time being, Jacksonville holds that dubious honor. Maybe they will change places in the upcoming weeks but don’t expect either team to rack up many victories in the remainder of the season, let alone make a playoff push.
