Jacksonville Jaguars player who must shine No. 5 – Trevor Lawrence

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence had a solid NFL debut, throwing three touchdowns and three interceptions. However, he regressed in Week 2 and had just one touchdown and two interceptions. Looking back it could have been a case of adjusting to the NFL and trying to do too much. On the other hand, he’s shown progress in the last two weeks. His decision-making looks improved and had no turnovers against the Bengals in Week 4.

It’s too early to put too much on Lawrence’s plate. In spite of how talented he is, he’s still a rookie. However, the Jags need him to have a good game against the Titans if they want to pull the upset. Sure, giving running back James Robinson the ball will help but this could be a close game and the Jags might need Lawrence to come up big in some key downs.

Beating the Titans in Week 5 would be huge for Jacksonville. As John Reid of The Florida Times-Union pointed out, the Jaguars haven’t beat them since All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey’s last game with the team. That was back in Week 3 of the 2019 season.
