3. Who is one Texans player that every fan should know about?

It’s definitely Scottie Phillips. The undrafted rookie running back out of Ole Miss played his way onto the roster and looked like he’d been in the NFL for years. While technically the RB5 (yes, Houston is carrying five running backs this season), Phillips remains a player that could change some games. He can run hard and catch out of the backfield. If he gets extended playing time, he potentially may be a dark horse for AFC Rookie of the Year.

4. Putting aside the Texans’ win/loss record in 2021, what should we expect from head coach David Culley?

Culley is a breath of fresh air to this Texans team. With over 27 years of NFL experience, he’s seen a lot of football and can calm down this young team that had an epic freefall from the 2019 season. Culley is going to have the mission be focused on changing the culture first. When the winning eventually starts happening, they’ll be ready along with the rest of the NFL. Culley does not sugarcoat much, but it’s easy to see how he can be a players’ coach when the time is right.

5. The most important question of all, what’s your prediction for Week 1 of the regular season, and why?

It comes down to who’s going to make the first mistake of the game. It will probably be way too close of a game for either fanbase to watch here in Week 1. But I think Justin Reid pick-sixes Trevor Lawrence in the fourth quarter for the go-ahead score that puts the Texans up for good. I’m going to say 31-20 Texans.
