3. Jacksonville Jaguars offer QB Gardner Minshew and a 7th-round pick.

This might be the riskiest trade proposal of the three, as quarterback Gardner Minshew is arguably the Jaguars’ best trade chip. The 2019 sixth-round pick wants a chance to compete for a starting job, which won’t likely happen in Jacksonville. The Cardinals already got Kyler Murray but he’s coming off a relatively down season and Minshew could push him.

Murray threw 26 passing touchdowns in 2020, six more than in his rookie campaign. However, he’s thrown 12 interceptions in back-to-back years. He also ran for 11 touchdowns but the Cards still went 8-8 last year. Granted, it wasn’t entirely his fault. In fact, head coach Kyle Klingsburry should shoulder most of the blame for not being able to get more out of Oklahoma product.

Speaking of Klingsburry, he may be on the hot seat in 2021. If that’s the case, he will look for different ways to get the team going. If he doesn’t, he could be shown the door at the end of the year. Trading for Minshew would be kind of a gamble but desperate times call for desperate measures and Klingsburry would get a quarterback that is driven and determined to start once again in the NFL.

The Jaguars have C.J. Beathard on the depth chart, so they could trade Minshew. There is a dropoff from the former to the latter, but Lawrence will most likely be the starting quarterback in 2021 and as long as he stays healthy, the Jags will be alright. Also, the former Cougar might finally go to the bathroom in Arizona.
