Could the Jacksonville Jaguars trade wide receiver Collin Johnson?

This one may be the toughest of all the entries on this list. Collin Johnson displayed flashes on his rookie campaign. Also, he has the endorsement of Jaguars legend Jimmy Smith. However, the Jaguars made several offseason additions to a wide receiver room that already had plenty of talent.

DJ Chark is still at the top of the depth chart and the team’s brass signed Marvin Jones Jr. and Phillip Dorsett in free agency — they also acquired Jamal Agnew but he will mainly see time on special teams. Laviska Shenault Jr. has had an outstanding offseason and is a candidate to break out in 2021.

Had the Jags not signed Jones and Phillip earlier this year, Johnson could be in line for the fourth wide receiver spot. Now, he will have to compete for playing time in training camp. The former Longhorn showed he can play at a high level, hauling in four receptions for 96 touchdowns in Week 12 last season. Nevertheless, he might be a victim of the numbers game this offseason.

Johnson is a talented player but he may not reach his full potential in Jacksonville. That’s why it would make sense to trade him to a team that is in need of a wide receiver. The Detroit Lions or the New Orleans Saints could certainly use the 2020 sixth-round pick and they should call the Jags to see what kind of compensation they want in exchange for Johnson.
