Ranking QBs Jacksonville Jaguars will face in 2021
These quarterbacks will give the Jacksonville Jaguars fits.
5. Matthew Stafford – For the first time in his career, Matthew Stafford will be able to show if the Detroit Lions held him back or if he was part of their problem. He has something going for him, offensive mastermind Sean McVay, who should be able to get the most out of him and make him a formidable foe. He will be one of five first overall picks the Jaguars will face in 2021.
4. Carson Wentz – As recently as 2019, Carson Wentz was a top 10 quarterback and showed he could thrive in spite of not having a good wide receiver unit to throw the ball to Moreover, he was integral in helping the Philadelphia Eagles win their only Super Bowl in franchise history. Last season, the second-overall pick in 2016 dealt with injuries and regressed. Now with the Indianapolis Colts, he will try to recapture his magic.
3. Ryan Tannehill – The Tennessee Titans quarterback ranks higher than Wentz because even though he may a tad less talented, he’s managed to stay healthy, something his Colts counterpart hasn’t been able to do. While Ryan Tannehill won’t light up the scoreboard, he will get the job done, and isn’t that what you want from your quarterback?
2. Josh Allen – While it took Josh Allen a couple of seasons to find his footing, he broke out in 2020 and helped the Buffalo Bills reach the AFC Championship last year. The Bills have done a good job of surrounding their franchise quarterback with a talented supporting cast. The Jags will need their own Josh Allen to slow down his Buffalo counterpart.
1. Russell Wilson – Jaguars offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell played a key role in Russell Wilson’s early development. This Jacksonville expects Bevell can have the same kind of impact on Trevor Lawrence. If the Clemson standout can become as good as Wilson, the Jags will have one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. For the time being, they will have to slow down the Seahawks signal-caller.
