Kansas City Chiefs. Alex Okafor. 2. player. 124. . Defensive end

Alex Okafor can add depth to the Jacksonville Jaguars’ defensive line.

Defensive end Frank Clark and defensive tackle Chris Jones are the two most important players in the Chiefs’ defensive line. Although neither of them will become a free agent anytime soon, their front four will take a hit if Alex Okafor hits the open market.

Originally a fourth-round pick in 2013 by the Arizona Cardinals, Okafor registered 16 total tackles (one for a loss), three sacks, and once forced fumble in limited playing time last season. In his eight-year career, the Texas product has started 60 games and logged 192 total tackles (34 for a loss), 30 sacks, five forced fumbles, and ten pass deflections.

It would make sense for the ‘Jags’ to target Okafor if they don’t want to sign a big-name defensive end in free agency but still want to add depth to the position. They could then add a prospect such as Carlos Basham Jr. early in the draft of Cameron Sample later in the process. Regardless of the route they take, the Jaguars need to bolster their defensive line and signing Okafor this offseason would be a step in the right direction.
