The Jacksonville Jaguars need to explore all possibilities.

So it’s already been established that the Jaguars are set to take Trevor Lawrence with the first overall pick, but it’s likely they are still performing due diligence and it may be too soon to write Lawrence’s name in pen.

Owner Shahid Kahn said that drafting a franchise quarterback will be paramount to the team’s long-term success and head coach Urban Meyer mentioned that making the right choice with the first overall pick will be one of the most important decisions of his life.

This means the team’s brass isn’t taking the process lightly and as talented the Clemson quarterback is, they need to make sure he will be the right man. If for some reason the ‘Jags’ went in a different direction with the top pick in the draft and used their second first-round selection, the 25th overall on a non-quarterback player, they could target Kyle Trask in the second round.

Trask lacks mobility in the pocket and although he’s accurate in short and intermediate passes, he doesn’t have the arm strength to take shots downfield on a consistent basis. Nevertheless, he has football intelligence and superb decision making should help him thrive at the NFL level.
