DK Metcalf could’ve bolstered the Jacksonville Jaguars’ passing game.

Jaguars’ original 2019 pick: Right tackle Jawaan Taylor (second round, 35th overall)

They missed on: Wide receiver D.K. Metcalf

Jawaan Taylor has been an ok pick for the Jaguars. Although he regressed in 2020 after a solid rookie year in 2019, the Florida product is barely entering his third year in the NFL and may have a chance to turn into a cornerstone player. Nevertheless, Jacksonville had a shot at taking D.K Metcalf who is one of the best young wide receivers in the league.

Metcalf had to infamously wait to get drafted with the last pick in the second round. It may be difficult to remember, but the Ole Miss product was supposed to go early in the process and instead was one selection away from sliding to the third round.

The Seattle Seahawks surely like how things have played out, as Metcalf has hauled in 141 receptions for 2,203 yards and 17 touchdowns. Moreover, the wide receiver has averaged 15.6 yards per catch in his two-year career.

The Jaguars have a couple of studs in D.J.Chark and Laviska Shenault Jr. but think of how good their wide receiver corps would currently be if they had drafted Metcalf.
