The Jacksonville Jaguars will need the right coaching staff as well.

If you look at the most successful quarterback in the league, most of them have something in common: A good-to-great head coach. Patrick Mahomes has Andy Reid, while Drew Brees has had Sean Payton throughout his career with the New Orleans Saints.

How important is it for a team to get their head coach right? The Buffalo Bills are a good example of how having the right man leading the team will help them win football games. Josh Allen has been able to develop and become a top quarterback thanks in large part to the guidance of head coach Sean McDermott.

In his first two years in the league, Allen was a talented yet raw quarterback, and the Bills won games thanks to their defense. However, the Wyoming standout has taken off in his third year and Buffalo is now a well-rounded team. Drafting the right quarterback was important, but so were building a balanced team and having the right head coach. The Jaguars could end up keeping Doug Marrone although starting from scratch and hiring someone else may be in the team’s best interest.

Drafting Trevor Lawrence or even Justin Fields of Ohio State will represent a step in the right direction for the Jaguars. Nevertheless, they can’t stop there and have to match him with a good head coach and build a talented roster around him. 2021 will be a crucial year for this Jacksonville team.
