10 Jacksonville Jaguars that need to step up versus Bears
These two Jacksonville Jaguars will likely have a big role in Week 16.
With James Robinson on the verge of missing his first game of the year, Dare Ogunbowale could make his first start for the Jaguars, and even if Robinson does end up playing, his carries may be limited, so Ogunbowale, who’s had just four carries in 2020, will have to be ready when he gets his name called.
Ogunbowale has been for every game since Week 2 this season but has mostly played on special teams, that could change against the Bears.
After begging head coach Doug Marrone to play, Gardner Minshew II finally got his wish granted and got the starting nod in Week 15 after being relegated to a backup role. In the end, the sophomore quarterback was unspectacular and went 22-of-29 for 226 yards and two touchdowns.
Although Minshew’s stat line doesn’t look half bad at first sight, you need to keep in mind the Jaguars fell behind early, so they were forced to pass early in the game. Maybe he needed one week to get comfortable at the helm once again. If that’s the case, and he has a big in Week 16, the odds of the Jaguars beating the Bears will increase.
