812. . . . Justin Fields. 2. player

The majority of the mock drafts out there have Justin Fields slated to be selected number two overall by the Jaguars. And they aren’t wrong for doing so. Jacksonville needs help at quarterback and Fields could very well be their franchise QB.

As a dual-threat quarterback, Fields has a good arm, high intangibles, and the confidence to be in the NFL. He doesn’t have a huge frame and the concern over him playing at Ohio State has been an issue. Quarterbacks out of Ohio State haven’t been very successful in the NFL but Fields may very well change that perception.

If the Jaguars contemplate drafting Fields, you have to ask, are you 100% ready to give up Gardner Minshew yet after two seasons?

Penei Sewell. 1. player. 820. . .

The Jaguars need help on the offensive line, especially at offensive tackle, to ensure the safety of their quarterback (no matter who that may be).

Penei Sewell looks to be the next big prospect on the offensive line since Quenton Nelson and will be easily drafted within the first three picks. If the Jets and Jaguars pass on him, you can sure bet on the Bengals snatching him with the third overall selection.

As I covered in this article, Sewell is big, he’s strong, knows how to use his hands, and is exceptional in both the run and pass block games. I see Sewell instantly making an impact in the NFL as a top offensive tackle.

While fans, really want the Jaguars to take Justin Fields with their first selection, Sewell is likely the safer option and has a higher ceiling than Fields. Take Sewell first, then go and grab a quarterback like Zach Wilson, Kyle Trask, or Mac Jones later.
