Todd Bowles is the kind of leader the Jacksonville Jaguars need.

Todd Bowles started his tenure as the New York Jets head coach with purpose and finished the 2015 season with a 10-6 record. He wouldn’t have as much success in the following three years and would get fired after 2018. However, he would quickly get a job as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator.

Although the ‘Bucs’ defense ranked 29th in points allowed last season, they are currently 11th, and that is thanks to Bowles’ work on that side of the ball. Interestingly, he got consideration for head coaching jobs after the 2019 season and he will be a coveted candidate once again in 2021.

Why is Bowles a trendy head coaching candidate year in and year out in spite of his 24-38 record with the ‘Gang Green’? He’s well-respected in league circles and is as seen as a positive and upbeat presence everywhere he goes, which is precisely the kind of person the Jaguars will need to oversee the potential rebuild they’re going to go through in 2021.

This Jacksonville team will likely draft its quarterback of the future in next year’s draft, and it will be crucial for them to find someone who can help establish a winning culture and a nurturing environment for him at the Dream Finders Homes Practice Complex.
