Glennon may not be the Jacksonville Jaguars starter for long.

As coach Doug Marrone stated Wednesday he wants to give Minshew a full week’s workload before throwing him back out on the football field. Which begs the question, will Minshew be named the starter next week?

Marrone told the media what his plan is Monday regarding the quarterback position and the Washington State product moving forward.

"‘I’ve got to see him throw. I’ve seen him throw a little bit, I want to see him throw a whole thing. I’ll have a better feel for it. The trainers and everyone, and Gardner said he feels good, he feels 100 percent. But I just want to make sure that myself, Ben [McAdoo] and Jay [Gruden] are able to see it and watch it before. A trainer’s evaluation of someone throwing is a little bit different than a coach’s evaluation.’"

It would make sense to assume Minshew will be named the starter as soon as he is fully healthy. However, it’s not a given. Glennon may shine versus the Browns and do enough to earn the start for another week or even the rest of the season. Although it’s unlikely, it remains a possibility. The really concerning scenario would be if Glennon plays poorly and is still named the starter going forward.

If that were to play out, it would be fair to wonder what this team is really trying to do for the remaining five games?
