2. player. 45. . . . Michael Ojemudia, cornerback

These two could’ve bolstered the Jacksonville Jaguars secondary.

This one is a peculiar case. Michael Ojemudia started six of the first eight games the Denver Broncos played in 2020 and recorded 30 tackles, four pass deflections, and two forced fumbles in that span. However, he hasn’t seen much playing time on defense in the last three games in spite of not sustaining any significant injuries.

Ojemudia tackling isn’t the best, but that’s not likely the reason why he isn’t getting snaps on defense. You could make a conjecture, but your guess would carry as much weight as ours. The truth may or may not eventually come to light, but regardless of the reason, the Iowa standout has shown he can play in the NFL.

player. 46. . . . Julian Blackmon, safety.

The Jaguars have an adequate safety in Jarrod Wilson and Daniel Thomas was displaying signs of growth before injuring his arm in Week 11. Nevertheless, the team’s brass had a chance to use the 73rd overall pick to draft Julian Blackmon. Instead, the Indianapolis Colts took him 12 spots later with the 85th selection.

The Colts defense currently ranks fifth in points allowed with 208 and one of the reasons is Blackmon. The Utah product joined the starting lineup when Malik Hooker tore his Achilles. This season, the rookie safety has registered 21 tackles, six pass breakups, and two interceptions. Looking at his production, it’s likely ‘Indy’ doesn’t miss Hooker much.
