Jacksonville Jaguars must consider calling these 4 strong safeties in 2021
These two veterans offer interesting options to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
This hasn’t been a kind season to San Francisco 49ers safety Jaquiski Tartt. Originally a second-pick in 2015, the Samford standout dealt with a hamstring injury early in the year and he was placed on the Injury Reserve list after sustaining a toe injury in Week 9. He is set to become a free agent in 2021, but his most recent injury could decrease the demand for him.
In seven games this season, Tartt registered 30 total tackles, four pass deflections, and one interception. In his six-year tenure in ‘San Fran’, he has amassed 301 total tackles, 17 passes defensed, two forced fumbles, and four interceptions.
Daniel Sorensen has been a staple of the Kansas City Chiefs secondary since joining the team as an undrafted free agent in 2014. The safety steadily moved up the roster ladder and he’s now part of their safety rotation.
Although Sorensen has started more than five games in his career just once, he’s become a key cog in the Chiefs defense. This season, he’s recorded 57 total tackles, two pass deflections, two interceptions, and returned one of them for a touchdown. In his career, he’s amassed 322 total tackles, four forced fumbles, 22 passes defensed, nine interceptions, and has returned three of them for touchdowns.
