DL Quinnen Williams could bolster the Jacksonville Jaguars’ front four.

For those teams that were interested in selecting defensive lineman Quinnen Williams ahead of 2019’s draft, they could have another shot at acquiring him as the New York Jets are listening to trade offers according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

How is it possible that the ‘Gang Green’ is shopping last year’s third overall pick? Nothing is surprising when it comes to the Jets. There doesn’t seem to be any sort of plan in place under head coach Adam Gase and general manager Joe Douglas as they already parted ways with running back Le’Veon Bell and All-Pro safety Jamal Adams this year. Williams could be the next one in line.

The Jets are asking for first-round in exchange for Williams but want fair compensation according to Mehta, but what does ‘fair compensation’ entail? There’s only one way to find out and that’s asking how much they want to make a deal happen, something the Jaguars should do if they haven’t already.

In seven games this season, Williams has registered three sacks (more than any Jaguars defenders), 28 total tackles, and five tackles for loss. He already surpassed his 2019’s sack totals so this could be a sign he’s growing as a player and is having the impact the Jets envisioned when they drafted him.

The Jaguars currently have ten draft picks in next year’s draft, two of those are in the second-round so the team can afford to part ways with one of them and another selection from a different round and still have plenty of ammo left for the selection process. They shouldn’t think this one too much and make a play for Williams.
