LEONARD FOURNETTE – RUNNING BACK

Leonard Fournette has been the face of the offense since he was drafted. However, many people feel as though Fournette isn’t considered a top back. While he has had a few injury issues, Fournette is much better than some people think.

Last season Fournette showed even more versatility as a receiving threat. Fournette is absolutely an underrated running back. He has speed, strength, and he should be offered an extension.

The fact he was drafted so early some have labeled Fournette a bust. However, if Fournette is healthy, he is one of the best backs in the league. Usually, especially early on in his career, Fournette faced eight in the box on every play. Because of this he never had space to work.

Fournette still put up rather impressive numbers last season. With a reliable quarterback who will force the opposing defense to respect the passing game, he has even more opportunity for success.

The only issue with Fournette is his injury history. He hasn’t played a full season once in his career. That needs to end this season and he must play all 16 games in order for people to finally give him the respect that he truly deserves.

Fournette also needs to up his touchdown numbers, and that is something that I expect to happen given his strength, speed, and the fact he has never had issues finding the endzone until last season.
