While we know the Jaguars will start the season with DJ Chark as their top pass-catching option, the battle for the second spot will be a battle to watch this summer.
The Jaguars drafted Laviska Shenault, Jr. with the hope that he would provide more speed on the outside and be a more dynamic receiver in the slot.
The team still has Dede Westbrook, Chris Conley, and Keelan Cole in the rotation.
Offensive coordinator Jay Gruden said he wants to be able to move players around and use them in different schemes this season. This should open up the passing game more, which could also aid the running game.
For now, Westbrook should be the team’s second option, but don’t count out the rookie. He could come to camp and show everybody that he is ready to become the team’s most versatile wide receiver with a chance to potentially move into a 1 or 1A type of situation.
