Will the Jaguars Make Trades During This Season?

It really depends on how the season plays out. The front office was busy trying to make deals prior to the start of the NFL Draft. There were no takers for Fournette or defensive end Yannick Ngakoue.

The Jacksonville Jaguars could be in the market to make deals if the team begins the season in the tank and the free fall begins. A long season could mean other players may see their way out of the city as well. Norwell was a candidate to be cut this offseason and he is still around.

I could see Fournette being traded before Ngakoue. Teams in the playoff race could always use a running back and injuries in this league happen quicker than a New York minute. The former first-round pick could help a team reach the postseason and run toward the Super Bowl.

There will be talk of a trade possibility for Ngakoue, however, variables must come into play. Which team picks up the remainder of his $17.8M contract? Will the Jaguars front office still hold out for a first-round draft pick? Would a player be added as compensation? Baltimore may be a team looking to add another pass rusher. So could the New Orleans Saints or Miami Dolphins.

Trades don’t happen that often in midseason. But if they happen this year, those two players figure to be the ones who leave North Florida – in a hurry.
