Make this a Defensive Draft

The focus should be on improving the front seven and adding some depth in the secondary. The Jaguars had 47 sacks last season, proving the pass rush wasn’t the issue in 2019. The middle of the defensive interior and the linebackers were suspect and gave up copious amounts of yards on the ground.

Dareus’ absence spoke volumes about how vital he had been to this team and now that it looks like he will be a cap casualty, the Jaguars must find his replacement because it does not appear he is currently on the roster.

Jacksonville has needs at all three levels of the defense. The front office could also look for beef on the offensive line and a potential playmaker or two. But the defense must be addressed first and holes must be filled. Free agency will play a huge role in how the team addresses existing needs in April.
