The Jaguars move up in the first round of the NFL Draft

Seeing the need to add help on all three levels of the defense, Caldwell gets bold and works a deal to move into the top 5.

Jacksonville got lucky last season in allowing the Draft to come to them and with the Raiders grabbing Clelin Ferrell at No. 4 and the New York Giants jumping all over Daniel Jones, the Jaguar got the best pass rusher in the selection process.

The way I see it breaking down, the Jaguars should be in the market for three players with their first pick – Georgia tackle Andrew Thomas, Auburn defensive tackle, Derrick Brown, Ohio State cornerback Jeff Okudah and Clemson Linebacker Isaiah Simmons. All four could be gone by the eighth pick and that includes the selection of both Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa.

If Caldwell sees the draft board unraveling, which could happen, he may make a call to the Chargers at No. 6 to get defensive help. This is usually something the Jaguars do at the top of the second round, but this year, it is paramount the team gets help on the defensive side, so it comes a bit earlier.
