2.5 For Yannick Ngakoue

Sunday could be the final game Jaguars fan see Yannick Ngakoue in a black and teal uniform. Expect the fourth-year pass rusher to make as much of an impact in the game as possible.

There is no word yet whether or not the team will re-sign him to a new deal as it has been reported talks between the defense event and the team broke down early during training camp and has been linked to Tom Coughlin as the one who ended negotiations.

All the while, Ngakoue has played it potential he the best football of his career this season. Right now, he is two sacks away from 10 for 2019. He has 2.5 away from 40 sacks in his career, which would mean he averaged 10 sacks per season in a Jaguars uniform.

"“I think for Yannick, I want what is best for him,” defensive coordinator Todd Wash said on Thursday when the met with the media. “The organization will decide if he is going to be able to come back or not, but I think he has put some really good stuff on tape. We challenged him early in the year, in the offseason when he was here, about playing the run. I think he has improved statistically against the run, and he is rushing the passer well. He has a bright future wherever it may be, but for the organization’s sake, I hope he is a Jaguar for a long time.”"

Let’s just cut to the chase, Jaguars. Pay this man already.
