Five Jacksonville Jaguars Who Need A Huge Training Camp
By David Levin
Blair Brown
The outside linebacker spot on the defense will be the most heavily scrutinized position in training camp. Brown, who looked good at times last season and in camp so far, has some competition.
Marrone said a starter is already in the building, so there is no thought the team will seek someone off the street from another roster. Brown is being pushed by rookie Leon Jacobs, Brooks Ellis, and Donald Payne. It is still up in the air how the starting spot will shake out.
Jacobs looks like he can run through a brick wall and remaining upright. Payne is a big, strong linebacker. Still, Brown’s year in the system will prove invaluable. Can he keep the other players from taking the starting spot? It’s a camp battle I am looking forward to watching.
