Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts: Friday Fact or Fiction for Week 13
By Daniel Lago
Leonard Fournette will score a touchdown: FACT
With the expectations set high, Leonard Fournette came out of the gate strong in 2017. The rookie sensation accumulated 596 rushing yards and 6 rushing touchdowns in his first 6 games.
Since then, Fournette has only gained 169 yards on the ground with no touchdowns in his last 3 starts.
Fournette suffered a nasty looking ankle injury in the loss to the Los Angeles Rams and he just hasn’t looked the same since then. He’s looked less willing to punish defenders and his burst hasn’t been as evident.
There have been plenty of other things going wrong with the offense, namely at quarterback and along the offensive line, but Fournette’s lack of production has been a shocking development.
The fourth overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft is too talented and we know he’s good, so I expect him to get back into a groove and that starts this week as he faces a Colts team that he missed out on a few weeks ago.
The Jaguars didn’t have Lenny in the first matchup against the Colts and they still managed 188 yards on the ground. With Jermey Parnell returning to the lineup at right tackle, I expect Fournette to get some sizable holes and make the Colts pay. He’ll get a touchdown and a 100 yards this week.
