1) Running back Chris Ivory

The Jacksonville Jaguars added New York Jets running back Chris Ivory to their running back stable in the 2016 free agency period. The move was surprising because the Jags already feature one of the better young backs in T.J. Yeldon, who was expected to carry the load.

But as the offseason wore on, it seemed more and more like Ivory was going to be getting most of the carries in a split between Yeldon and him.

How Ivory does in the first game action of the preseason could help put him over the top in the battle against Yeldon and finally run away with it. Yeldon has had a hamstring issue (listed as probable by CBS Sports) so most eyes should be on Ivory as he gears up to try and be the primary ball carrier in the one-two punch.

The added intrigue of Ivory taking on his former team makes it just a little bit more enticing. I doubt Ivory will get too many touches as he’s projected to be a starter or primary player for the Jags, but it will be good to see him go against his former squad as well. It’s a minor homecoming (being the preseason) but this type of thing is always a big deal to the players.
