Round 4: Keanu Neal, S Florida

The last time the Jacksonville Jaguars drafted a safety out of the University of Florida, it was Josh Evans who didn’t really work out. But don’t worry, Keanu Neal is different.

Even with the Jags signing Tashaun Gipson to fill the free safety need, injuries happen and if Gipson doesn’t pan out, the Jags need someone to fill in and be that guy. With a grooming year Neal could develop into something special.

Standing at 6’1″ and 205 lbs, he is another big body defensive-back to add to Bradley’s defense. A 4.62 40 yard dash time isn’t the fastest but he makes up for it with impeccable ball skills, Neal is the definition of a ball hawk. He doesn’t jump off the stat chart as he only had 1 pick last year but makes up for it in pass deflections and good man to man or zone coverage. With a recent stock boom that had some writers picking him in the second round, the problem is whether or not he falls this far.
