PREDICTION: Blake Bortles will throw at least 5 20-yard completions: FACT

Result: FACT (6 20-yard+ completions)

Even though a couple of them came on some short screens to T.J. Yeldon, Bortles is still finding plays down the field. This week, he finally managed to connect with tight end Julius Thomas, but Bortles overall has done a good job of finding multiple receivers to push the ball downfield.

Aside from the big plays, Bortles is still struggling at times, particularly in the redzone. This week, Bortles pulled of two astonishingly silly plays – throwing the ball past the line of scrimmage. The first time Bortles did it, he was well past the line of scrimmage on a play where he should have just tucked it and ran. The second time is just inexcusable, regardless of how close the play was.

Next: Jags fall out of contention

PREDICTION: Jaguars 24 – Chargers 13

Result: Jaguars 25 – Chargers 31

The pride comes before the fall, and everyone, including the national media, was entirely too confident in this team following a narrow victory to the lowly Tennessee Titans. Philip Rivers came in and showed the Jaguars what they still have to learn as a team – consistency and execution.

The playoffs are no longer on the table. The rest of the season is about evaluating the roster, building chemistry, and figuring out how to replace dud players like Andre Branch and Chris Clemons.
