PREDICTION: Julius Thomas will score a touchdown: FACT

Result: FACT

After struggling for the most part since coming back from his hand injury, Julius Thomas finally showed a little of why he was given so much money in the offseason. Targeted 10 times, Thomas took full advantage of the looks he got by catching 9 balls for 116 yards and a touchdown.

I made this prediction expecting the Jaguars to utilize Thomas more in the redzone, but that wasn’t the case. Thomas actually excelled with some passes deep down the middle of the field, including a big-time juke on Eric Weddle for his touchdown pass.

It’s nice to see Bortles and Thomas getting on the same page as we enter the final part of the season, but the Jaguars clearly have some massive issues in the redzone. They swing from the two extremes of running too much and passing too much – four field goals to start the game is just unacceptable.

Next: Bortles still finding big plays
