Injuries

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without the services of starters Sen’Derrick Marks and Julius Thomas on Sunday and may be without players like wide receiver Marqise Lee as well. When you look at other major offseason injury problems like Dante Fowler Jr.’s torn ACL, safety James Sample’s broken arm, safety Johnathan Cyprien’s hand, and Ziggy Hood landing himself on injured reserve, and it’s clear that the Jags are practically crawling into the season.

For some, getting back to the 2015 season will be a big accomplishment. For others, starting is a monumental task. For still others, just getting back on the practice field has been a success.

The good thing is that the Jacksonville Jaguars offense, sans Thomas, is near-complete still.

The bad news is that the defense is without some key players early in the season (through the season in Fowler’s case).

These injuries take a toll on the football field and off the football field and are tough to get over for young teams like the Jags. This Jaguars vs Panthers matchup will test their mettle and at this point I’m not sure the team will show weakness or band together and show strength from position to position.

The hobbled Jaguars, fortunately, are facing a team that also isn’t complete due to injury. They won’t always be that lucky.

Hopefully the team can make it through Week 1 without adding more players to the injury list because right now this is a major concern.
