Cecil Shorts has only played in seven games this season, starting just five of them. He’s proven to be a pretty reliable target for another year, but he’s also shown that he’s still the same big play threat that we all love. The Jaguars have been happy with Shorts’ big play potential for a while, keeping him on the team despite some drops (two this season) fumbles (one this season) and injury history (three games this season). Shorts rewards the Jags by being 15th in the league in average yards after the catch (6.4), racking up 212 yards after catching the ball (24th in the league). He’s proven to be pretty dependable as well, catching 57.9% of passes thrown his way. Targeting shorts 57 times (38th in the league) has proven troublesome, however, with four interceptions coming off passes toward him. If he stays healthy he’s a great complement to the young Allen Robinson. He also provides a rare veteran presence on a young Jags team.
