Previewing the ’10 Jaguars roster – The secondary

Gene Smith has 1 more option to boost the secondary (and I mean here of course the safety position) and that is to get FA help. Now the Jaguars recently tried to sign multiple All-Pro; and ProBowl selection Dearren Sharper, but he choosed his old team the Saints for 1 more year. The most talked candidate FA could be Rams safety O.J. Atogwe; who is expected to be released this summer. He was one of the few bright spots in the Rams defense. Keep an eye on him!

So here is how the secondary of the Jaguars defense is looking now. There are some concerns even at corner; but compared to the safety positions, it is looking at least solved. At the safeties I cannot talk about that, it remains the number one concern. The Jaguars might need help inside (passrush); and outside (FA signing- Atogwe) to have any quick fix there. But be sure; we at Black&Teal will cover the events and changes in the entire off-season especially about what happens in the secondary position battles!
