The Jacksonville Jaguars have done a good job of recovering from the Travis Hunter trade, making a series of moves to hoard draft picks the next couple years. Granted, they gave up a second in 2025 and a first next year, but they have no shortage of selections in the later rounds. That's probably why they felt comfortable including a seventh-rounder when they sent Tyson Campbell to the Cleveland Browns.
Adam Schefter reported that Jacksonville traded Campbell and a seventh-round pick to the Browns in return for Greg Newsome and a sixth-rounder. Basically, they swapped cornerbacks and late-round selections.
It's possible that Cleveland gave the Jags the sixth because they're going to take on Newsome's remaining salary. On top of that, they already gave Campbell the signing bonus of the $76.5 million deal he got in 2024.
It's important to point out that the past Jaguars regime drafted Campbell and gave him an extension. James Glastone gave him a clean slate. It didn't work out, so he traded him now and got his potential replacement instead of waiting until next year when his stock might've dropped.
Circling back to the draft picks the Jaguars have after the Tyson Campbell trade, here's a look at the updated list following the news.
Updated list of Jaguars draft picks after the Tyson Campbell - Greg Newsome trade
As noted before, the Jaguars got a sixth and Greg Newsome when they traded Tyson Campbell and a seventh-round selection to the Browns, meaning that they had the same number of draft picks they had before the deal (13).
The Jaguars gave up their first-round selection next year as part of the Travis Hunter trade. Not long after the franchise-altering move, they got two third-rounders for 2026 from the Detroit Lions after agreeing to move down a few spots in Round 3.
Moreover, Jacksonville has extra picks in Rounds 5 and 7 after trading kicker Riley Patterson (2023), defensive tackle Roy Robertson-Harris (2024), left tackle Cam Robinson (2024), wide receiver Christian Kirk (2025), offensive tackle Fred Johnson (2025), and, more recently, running backTank Bigsby (2025).
On the other hand, the Jags part ways with the selection they acquired from Robertson-Harris when they traded for wide receiver Tim Patrick.
