NFL analysts can no longer overlook Trevor Lawrence. After a slow start to the season, he's hitting his stride at just the right time. And agains the New York Jets, the fifth-year quarterback played one of his best games he's had with the Jacksonville Jaguars and maybe his whole football career.
So you have an idea of how dominant Lawrence was in the 48-20 win over New York, he became the first player in NFL history to throw for five touchdown passes, run for another, and log over 50 rushing yards. And in case there were any doubts about how well he's playing, teammate Travis Etienne just made it abundantly clear with his latest remarks.
Travis Etienne says Trevor Lawrence is playing better than he did at Clemson
Following the game, Travis Etienne met with reporters. He said that he's never seen Trevor Lawrence play the way he did against the Jets, noting that he was with him during Clemson's national championship run.
"I don't think I ever seen Trevor like this, you know. And we won a national championship together. Nothing like he's just out there. He's on fire, man, like you seen it. He rolled out again, and he just kind of stopped and just said, Park [Washington] is down there somewhere. He launched it, and Parker made a great catch. So, man, I'm just grateful I'm on his team, and the growth that I've seen through him is just unbelievable, and it forces everybody else to step up their game as well."

Like Lawrence, Etienne showed out against the Jets, totaling 105 yards from scrimmage with four touchdowns. And if someone is well-equipped to say just how much Jaguars quarterback has improved this season, it's his long-time teammate.
After all, they've been together for more than five years. You could argue that Etienne is biased since he's his teammate with Lawrence since 2018. On the other hand, he's seen him struggle too, so when he says No. 16 is playing the best football of his career, everyone should gather up.

Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne give the Jaguars a dynamic duo of playmakers
When the Jaguars traded Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne in 2021, they expected the duo to take the league by storm. The fact that the latter suffered a Lisfranc injury as a rookie brought the plan to a screeching halt. However, they've been two of the most consistent players the Jaguars have the past few years.
Both Etienne and Lawrence are coming off down seasons, but they're also a big reason Jacksonville has won 10 games for the first time since 2017. They're the engine that powers the offense, and the team's brass will have a tough decision next year.
Etienne is set to become a free agent after 2025. He's having a comeback season and could command plenty of interest if he hits the open market, so the Jags will need to decide if they'll keep him alongside Lawrence.
If Travis Etienne does walk in 2026, he's surely making the most of his time with long-time teammate Trevor Lawrence. And he can leave knowing he's helped the Jaguars enjoy a turnaround in Year 1 of the Liam Coen era.
