The Jacksonville Jaguars are clicking on all cylinders in the second half of the season. Their hot streak continued when they welcomed the New York Jets at EverBank Stadium in Week 15. Right off the bat, they took control of the game and didn't get their feet off the gas pedal until the game was out of reach.

One huge reason for Jacksonville's hot start against the Jets was Trevor Lawrence. The fifth-year quarterback completed passes left and right and quickly helped his team build a favorable lead. By halftime, he had already tallied four touchdowns. This led announcer Ross Tucker to give him his flowers.

Ross Tucker acknowledges Trevor Lawrence is on fire during the Jaguars' surge

Just before the third quarter began, Ross Tucker talked about Trevor Lawrence's performance against the NY Jets, going as far as saying that it was his best half of the season. Here's the skinny.

"Trevor Lawrence is in the zone right now. He is absolutely on fire, Tucker told fellow announcer Tom McCarthy. "I thought last week against the Colts was his best game of the season. That was his best half. I mean, four touchdowns for Trevor Lawrence, and look at what he's doing, getting the ball out of his hands on time, and like we projected, they're attacking the Jets linebackers."

Tucker continued, "Lawrence is throwing the ball in the rhythm. You don't see him holding very long. That is a quarterback who is getting very comfortable in what he's being asked to do."

McCarthy went on to discuss Lawrence's production before halftime.

"189 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown. And again, he hasn't been put on the turf yet, except for that spike that he had where he dove for the ball; he wasn't sacked at all," McCarthy said.

Even Pro Football Focus highlighted Lawrence's performance, noting that he had an adjusted completion rate of 79.0 percent. It's also worth noting that his third touchdown of the game gave him 90 for his career, which helped him surpass David Garrard for the third most in team history.

Moreover, Lawrence surpassed the 3,000-yard mark for the fourth time in five seasons.

Trevor Lawrence is playing like a top-10 QB for the Jaguars

Early in the season, Trevor Lawrence rightly caught plenty of heat. Although his receivers weren't helping him, he wasn't playing his best football. His decision-making seemed off, and he was inaccurate at times. But credit where credit is due: The former Clemson Tiger had made a huge leap since Liam Coen told him to let it rip. It's also helped that he's been wearing a wristband, which has increased his ability to process and execute plays.

Similarly, having Jakobi Meyers has been huge for Lawrence's play in recent weeks. Analysts are rightly praising him now. The likes of Matt Ryan and Bill Cowher have praised him for his consistency in recent weeks. Ross Tucker is the latest to confirm that the first overall pick in 2021 is playing at a high level.

The Jaguars and Trevor Lawrence are picking up steam at the right time. If they keep playing the way they have since their BYE, more analyst will jump onto their bandwagon.
