The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of the hottest teams in the NFL. Coming off a convincing win over the Denver Broncos, they're beginning to get the spotlight. However, the Jags are still not getting their due, and proof of it is their lack of players selected to the Pro Bowl game.

You would think that a team with an 11-4 record would have multiple Pro Bowl nods, but that's not the case with Jacksonville, with the only player getting a designation being long-snapper Ross Matiscik.

Now, nobody will overlook the value of long-snapping, but it's clear that the Jags had other deserving candidates aside from Matiscik. Meanwhile, the 2-13 Las Vegas Raiders had two players selected, defensive end Maxx Crosby and tight end Brock Bowers. Both were worthy of the nod, but it's baffling to see such a baffling team getting more recognition than one of the top three playoff seeds in the AFC. Perhaps Liam Coen was right when he said he didn't expect the respect to come any time soon.

Liam Coen knows the Jaguars won't be getting any respect

Following the win over the Broncos, Liam Coen stated that he didn't expect the narrative to change even after defeating one of the top teams in the Conference. The blatant lack of Pro Bowlers just validated his remarks.

Linebacker Devin Lloyd is playing the best football of his career. Yet, he was snubbed in favor of Azeez Al-Shaair and Roquan Smith. Can you tell anyone with a straight face that both of them were better than Lloyd? Probably not.

By now, you could argue that Lloyd was selected as an alternate, but that doesn't make the glaring omission sting any less. It would be one thing if the former Utah Ute just had one or two good games, but he routinely was the reason the Jacksonville defense nominated.

Expect the lack of Pro Bowl selections to fuel the Jaguars

If Liam Coen proved something is that he can turn the slightest sign of disrespect into a rallying cry. For instance, Sean Payton praised the Jaguars, pointing out that they didn't get enough recognition because they play in a small market. The first-year head coach twisted the perceived jab to motivate his team. It worked.

Don't you think Coen could use similar bulletin board material after the dearth of Pro Bowl nods in Jacksonville? If anything, expect the Jags to show the rest of the league why more of the players deserved to get the nod.

Of course, getting as many Pro Bowl selections as possible would be the cherry on top of what's been a successful season. The silver lining is that the Jaguars will use it as motivation to make a deep playoff push (yes, they already got their ticket), so if they end up playing in the Conference game or even Championship Sunday, it probably won't matter.
